susan koning

registered acupuncturist

Susan comes from Ontario Canada where she received her Biology degree from Queen’s University. She furthered her education in British Columbia where she received her diploma in acupuncture at Pacific Rim College. Susan also completed training at Mnazi Mmoja Hospital in Stone Town, Tanzania and she additionally helped in areas of Uganda to train local health care professionals in areas of need. She received her licensing through CTCMA in British Columbia. She has had the privilege of working as an acupuncturist on cruise ships for 8 years. Her career has brought her into contact with many different medical conditions to treat as she travelled the world. She retired her sea legs in 2019 upon moving back to Ontario and is now registered with CTCMPAO.

Susan is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine which treats almost every condition and organ system in the body. She has found acupuncture to be especially effective at treating pain conditions and with pain management. She performs treatments that help with numerous health conditions and is also trained in cosmetic acupuncture and cupping to provide a completely holistic approach to both health and beauty.

sonja marzo

registered massage therapist

Sonja graduated from the massage therapy program at D'Arcy Lane in London, Ontario. She earned her registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) in 2014. Since then she has also become a Registered Yoga Teacher and a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach. 

She is passionate about continued learning in the massage therapy field as well as providing professional care to her clients in a welcoming environment. She has treated a variety of clients ranging from children to retirees, expectant mothers, and dedicated athletes. Sonja thoroughly enjoys treating clients that have a keen interest in bettering their overall health.

 

Her clinical experience is demonstrated in her competence treating many different conditions, however her particular interest lies in therapeutic relief of muscle tension, trigger point therapy, and headache/migraine relief. 

Sonja incorporates the use of cups and RockTape (kinesiology taping) into her massage therapy practice. She is also an advocate for prescribing homecare for her clients so they have tools to help themselves between sessions. Sonja believes that proper nutrition and hydration, as well as a tailored fitness plan, and daily habit changes can be the difference of seeing her for pain management versus general maintenance (hint: this is the goal!).

Dr. Marissa Thomson

Naturopathic Doctor

Marissa was born and raised just outside of St. Mary’s Ontario where she developed a love for physical activity and the great outdoors. After graduating from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics, she went on to pursue Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. She completed her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree along with a 1-year internship at both the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and the Naturopathic Clinic at Brampton Civic Hospital.
 
She uses a patient-centered approach to develop individualized treatment plans. With clinical diagnoses, laboratory testing and evidence-based research her goal is to work with you, support you and empower you to take back control over your health! She uses a variety of therapeutics including acupuncture, nutritional supplements, botanical medicine and education surrounding lifestyle and nutrition. She has a general family practice with special interest in hormonal dysregulation, digestive health as well as stress and anxiety management.
 
Dr. Thomson is a licensed and registered Naturopathic Doctor and is in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND).

Dr. kate walker

chiropractic Doctor

Dr. Kate Walker was raised in Thorndale and was actively involved in sports and recreation growing up. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours degree in Kinesiology in 2015 and continued on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic in 2019 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto.

Dr. Walker provides a number of services that are tailored toward each individual’s needs. Her treatment style includes soft tissue therapy, adjustments/mobilizations, and acupuncture in combination with education, exercises, and lifestyle advice to improve health and fitness.

 

She enjoys working with patients from all walks of life and believes that everyone can benefit from having a chiropractor on their personal health care team. She is passionate about movement and encourages people to make the time to move daily and find an active hobby that they enjoy.

In her spare time, you can find her with her family and friends, biking the Fanshawe Trails, kayaking in the Thames River, or out and about with her dog Cooper!
